Lavender Honey Needle Book

September 2014

Materials: Stitched on linen using a mix of silk, wool, and cotton embroidery flosses. The interior of the book is wool blend felt, and there is also a bit of wool blend felt hidden under the beehive.

I found this awesome site http://www.needlenthread.com with tons and tons of tutorials and info on hand stitching, as well as lots of free patterns and a few paid patterns. And ads, lots of ads, but I can forgive them since it means most of the content on the site is free to the user.

Anyhow, one of the few paid items on the site is called Lavender Honey & Other Little Things, which is more of an ebook than a simple pattern. I highly recommend it to anyone that is starting to venture away from beginner level projects, but still needs guidance. The 90 page book contains 4 different designs for five little projects, so you really get 20 patterns, as well as tons of photos to walk you through the stitches.

This was my first project from the book, although I do want to make more of the needle book designs. There are some other little things that I might make as well, like the button covers or pin keepers, but it is doubtful.
